Funding Buddies

Invicta Valiants is a pan disability and special needs football club. Funding Buddies helped them achieve funding for their team to go on tour!

Most of the children attend special needs schools in Kent.  They are predominately physically able with a diagnosed special need of some kind eg autism, ADHD and speech & language problems.  Some children do have physical disabilities but although in wheelchairs or using a walking frame they are still included in training and competitive activities.

These young people are generally excluded from the challenge of touring and meeting other teams because of their disabilities. The Go West! project gave these young people an opportunity to experience a sports tour, something taken for granted by all other young people participating in mainstream sports.  They had a brilliant 5 day trip which culminated in a tournament against teams from the Cornwall leagues, where all participants were awarded a trophy and goody bag for their participation.
