How does Funding Buddies work?

E-mail Print PDF

Funding Buddies is a three year project to assist Community and Voluntary groups in identifying appropriate sources of funding.  The groups will then be offered the services of a Funding Buddy Mentor who will give guidance throughout the bid-writing process.  This project is fully funded by the Big Lottery Fund, so there is no cost to the groups who receive support.

Who do we help?

The project operates throughout the whole of Kent and Medway, in both rural and urban areas. The service is available to any group in the county.  It will not however normally assist very large organisations or branches of national bodies.

3. Your Funding Buddy is Assigned

Nigel Turley, the Funding Buddies Co-ordinator will visit your group to find out more about your funding requirements. He will then assign you a Funding Buddy to visit you and work with your group to help develop existing and new projects. Drawing on the Funding Buddy's experience and skills, relevant and suitable funds are investigated.

4. Fund Identified

Once suitable grants have been identified, the Funding Buddy will then provide guidance and support during the bid-writing process.  During this process specialist knowledge is passed on, enabling groups to effectively apply for funding in the future.

5. Ongoing Support

The Funding Buddy will revisit the projects once financial support has been achieved to ensure that effective recording, both financial and in terms of outputs are in place. Further support will be given with the completion of the project returns.
