Catalyst Arts and Heritage Fund
This is a new joint scheme funded by Arts Council England (£40m), Heritage Lottery Fund (£20m) and the Department of Culture Media and Sport (£30m) to increase private giving to the arts.
Catalyst Arts has three separate elements:
- Match-funding - £30m for an integrated match-funding and capacity building scheme to increase arts organisations' ability to fundraise. This fund will be open to individual organisations or those working together that have some experience of fundraising. Support will be designed to allow organisations to prepare in the first year, and then explore innovative ways of using match-funding to generate and secure new private giving.
- Small Grants - £7m for a one-off grant scheme to support arts organisations with less experience to build their fundraising capacity. Grants will range from £15,000 - £25,000 aimed at providing individual organisations, or those working together, with the tools and skills to begin to raise, or increase, their private income.
- Advice - £3m for providing practical advice on ways to secure new sources of funding.
Catalyst Heritage has two separate elements.
- Endowments - It is currently envisaged that the £15m endowment challenge funding will open to existing HLF-funded voluntary sector and charitable organisations.
- Capacity Building - £5m will be available for capacity building to increase the ability of heritage bodies to fundraise and encourage giving.
