An independent charity, created in 1923 as the Kent Rural Community Council. We aim to ensure that nobody is disadvantaged simply because they live or work in a rural community. Our purpose is to excel in the provision of information and support to communities in Kent and Medway to enable them to help themselves.

We provide advice, guidance, training and brokering of good practice in order to support our purpose, and take evidence from our work in communities across Kent and Medway to try and influence policy makers.

We bring together more than 400 public, private and voluntary/community sector organisations – the majority of whom are in our membership – to work to support our aim and purpose.

We are part of the Rural Community Action Network, made up of 38 Rural Community Councils, 8 regional partnerships and national umbrella organisation ACRE
